The Quiet Momentum Behind Evolve’s Growth

Building trust through consistency, not hype

When we started Evolve Waste Solutions in November 2024, we weren’t looking to reinvent the wheel. We had two vehicles, a small customer base and a simple goal: do the job properly, every time.

Twelve months later, our fleet and investment continues to grow. We have daily (and some twice daily) rounds operating across London and the Home Counties seven days a week, we have collected thousands of tonnes of waste and we’re proud to maintain a 99.5% service success rate across the board. It’s been steady growth, built on something we’ve always believed in – that good work speaks for itself.

Starting with What We Know

Our team has history together. We’d previously worked at a successful regional waste company for years, so we understood each other’s strengths and knew we could build something solid. But starting from ground zero gave us something special – the chance to take all the learnings from our ‘past lives’ and bring all the best parts together to create the evolution of Evolve.

We’ve combined our industry knowledge and ‘think differently’ attitude with innovative technology that sets us apart. Every bin is weighed and tracked with RFID smart tags, giving customers precise data about their waste streams. Our split-compartment vehicles collect multiple waste types in one visit, reducing carbon emissions and site disruption. Led by our ‘waste today, resource tomorrow’ ethos, we’re helping customers see their waste not as a problem to dispose of, but as a resource to be maximised. These aren’t just nice features – they’re part of our unique offering that customers genuinely value.

That existing credibility helped. Former customers reached out when they heard what we were doing. Their neighbours noticed our consistent service. Partners who’d worked with us before initially trialed us at a small selection of their managed sites, which then led to more and more work. It created a natural momentum that we honestly didn’t expect to happen so quickly!

Learning as We Go

Operating with a smaller team has taught us a lot about what really matters – and we’re not afraid to go the extra mile. When a customer’s supplier lets them down, we’ll go out of our way to help them out. When someone needs last-minute event coverage, we make it happen. When a new customer signs up, they usually get their bins the next if not same day because we know how frustrating delays can be.

We’re not saying larger companies can’t do this – but our size means we can make decisions quickly and actually follow through on them. Every situation is an opportunity to show what we’re capable of, and we start as we mean to go on.

 The Customers Who’ve Trusted Us

One of the highlights of our first year has been the diversity of customers we’ve had the privilege to work with. We genuinely value every single one – from Hari at our local post office to prestigious institutions like Harrow School, from Mleczko Delikatesy to the iconic Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Club, where we delivered a seamless operation during the 2025 Championships.

Each customer brings something different, and we’re proud to serve them all with the same level of care and commitment. Whether it’s an SME with a single site or a large multi-site operation, the approach is the same: reliable service, smart solutions and genuine partnership.

We’ve also been fortunate to build strong relationships with partners who share our values. These partnerships work because we’re both focused on delivering real value – not just to each other, but ultimately to the customers and sites we serve together. It’s been brilliant watching these relationships develop and grow stronger throughout the year.

What Drives Us

The best part of starting something new is working with people who genuinely care – about the work, about our customers and about each other. Everyone helps out where they can, whether that’s the Ops team helping with site visits or the Sales team delivering bins to new sites!

 
Our internal culture is something we’re genuinely proud of. We all get on brilliantly, support each other through challenges and celebrate each other’s wins. There’s a real sense that we’re building something together, and that makes everyone want to give their best.

If you believe you are the best, you will be the best and won’t let anything stop you. That mindset runs through everything we do – from how we treat each customer to how we support each other as a team. It’s been an exciting year being part of something from the beginning, and every team member makes a real difference.

What’s Next

We’re planning to keep growing – more vehicles, expanded coverage, additional team members. The demand is there, and we’re ready to meet it. Our goal is straightforward: become the go-to choice for commercial waste collection in London and the Home Counties.

But we want to do it the same way we’ve got here – by being reliable, consistent and putting customers first through genuine partnership.

Simple Formula

Our approach isn’t revolutionary. We show up when we say we will, we solve problems quickly when they arise, we use technology to work smarter, we focus on getting the most value from the waste we collect and we treat customers and colleagues well. In an industry where that’s not always a given, it turns out that’s enough to build something worthwhile.

The momentum we’ve created over this first year isn’t from clever marketing or big promises – it’s from doing good work consistently. That’s what we plan to keep doing as we head into year two!
